Waterford is a safe, close-knit, multi-generational community with a rich industrial heritage. It is a place with diverse recreational opportunities, from walking along a canalway trail to swimming in the town pool.
Waterford’s emergency services, churches, fraternal organizations, and youth groups rely on the tradition of volunteer service that is typical for our small community. Waterford values its pedestrian-oriented downtown, the ambiance created by its nineteenth-century architecture, and the waterways which influenced the community’s development.

Where is Waterford?
Waterford is across the Hudson River from Troy and situated between Cohoes, North Troy, and Halfmoon. You can access Waterford from Troy or Albany by driving to the north end of 787. The town is just a quick jaunt from Cohoes, New York.
Where can I find parking?
There is parallel parking along Broad Street and some side streets. In addition, there is a village parking lot on the corner of Tugboat Alley and Broad Street.
What are the sites to see?
Peebles Island State Park is an all-time favorite, but we also have the Waterford "flight of five" locks you can watch drain and fill as boats pass through and a historic museum with family-friendly activities and exhibitions.
